Sep 29, 2016

AmeriCatalyst LLC is pleased to announce the addition of David Stockman to the lineup of speakers for AMERICATALYST 2016: FAST FORWARD -- WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

For the past 14 years, AMERICATALYST has been known for tackling the housing finance industry’s greatest issues long before they fully surface, as well as furnishing the discussion of content that other conferences cannot--or will not--touch. AMERICATALYST alumni are remarkably informed about what is really happening to the industry from the outside in, and better prepared to change the industry from the inside out.

“Since bringing this event to the U.S. in 2009,” said AmeriCatalyst CEO and event host Toni Moss, “there is one particular speaker whom I’ve always wanted...but have never succeeded in getting his participation. Until now.” Moss called Stockman’s addition to the lineup consistent with the event’s trademark weight, caliber, and controversy.

“Stockman is one of the most influential figures in the past century in American economics and politics,” said Moss, adding that Stockman is “a man whose economic policies changed the world.” According to Moss, Stockman will be featured in his own presentation, as well as in a discussion with Amherst Holdings CEO Sean Dobson and MoneyStrong CEO Danielle Di Martino Booth, the author of Fed Up. The session, “One-Trick Pony: A Bucking Fed Throws Off the Housing Market,” takes place on Day 2 of AmeriCatalyst 2016, Tuesday, Nov. 1.

AMERICATALYST 2016 will be held October 30th through November 1st at the Omni Resort at Barton Creek in Austin, Texas. The invitation-only event features industry insiders and executives of various trades participating in interactive panels with groundbreaking subject matter. Stockman, known as “the Father of Reaganomics,” developed the popular theory of “trickle-down economics” and was one of the most controversial Directors of the Office of Management and Budget in history. After leaving government, Stockman joined Salomon Brothers and later became a partner of the Blackstone Group.

He is the author of four books, including The Reagan Economic Plan (1981); The Triumph of Politics: Why the Reagan Revolution Failed (1986); The Great Deformation: The Corruption of Capitalism in America (2013) and the just released, Trumped! A Nation on the Brink of Ruin and How to Bring it Back.
